23XI Racing Star Scores Sixth Victory of the Season

Tyler Reddick delivered a clutch performance Sunday at Phoenix Raceway, passing Chase Briscoe late and holding off Ryan Blaney to win the NASCAR Cup Series Freeway Insurance 500. The 23XI Racing driver captured his sixth victory of the 2026 season, putting himself back into the championship conversation with only three races remaining.

Reddick’s victory was especially important after a difficult stretch that followed his incredible start to the season. After winning three consecutive races to open the year, Reddick went several months without visiting Victory Lane. His performance at Phoenix proved he remains a serious threat as the championship battle intensifies.

Reddick Makes His Move Late

The race came down to a dramatic closing stretch. With roughly 20 laps remaining, Reddick restarted near the front and immediately began challenging the leaders.

Reddick made his way past Briscoe, who was looking for his third consecutive victory, and took control of the race. Ryan Blaney attempted to track him down in the closing laps, but Reddick maintained his advantage and crossed the finish line 0.801 seconds ahead of the Team Penske driver.

Blaney finished second, while Chase Elliott secured third. Christopher Bell also delivered a strong result, finishing among the top five and collecting valuable championship points.

Reddick’s ability to capitalize on the late restart proved to be the difference. His team made the right strategic decisions, giving him the opportunity to fight for the win when it mattered most.

Championship Battle Gets Tighter

The victory gives Reddick renewed hope in the Chase standings. He entered Phoenix 114 points behind Kyle Larson, but Larson endured a disastrous afternoon that included a flat tire and a trip to the garage, leaving him with a 34th place finish.

Reddick’s win cut his deficit to 56 points with three races remaining. Christopher Bell also made major gains and moved to within five points of Larson.

With the series heading to Talladega next weekend, the championship battle is suddenly wide open. Reddick has given himself a chance to make a late season push, and Sunday’s victory could be the momentum he needs to challenge for the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series title.
