Former NASCAR Driver Could Be Working Toward Another Opportunity in the National Series
Hailie Deegan could be working her way back toward the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series after returning to stock car racing in 2026. Following a challenging stretch in her career, Deegan has found new momentum in the ARCA Menards Series West, and a return to NASCAR’s national ranks could be the next step in her journey.
Deegan reunited with Bill McAnally Racing for the 2026 ARCA West season, returning to the organization that helped launch her racing career. The move gave her an opportunity to rebuild her confidence, compete for wins and regain the form that made her one of the sport’s most talked-about young drivers.
A Chance to Rebuild Her Career
Deegan previously competed full-time in the Truck Series from 2021 through 2023. She recorded five top-10 finishes in 69 starts before moving to the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2024.
Her time in the second tier series was short lived, and she eventually moved to Indy NXT for the 2025 season. After finishing 14th in the standings, Deegan decided to return to stock cars and reunite with McAnally.
The decision has already produced a major moment. Deegan won at Madera Speedway in the ARCA West Series, delivering a victory that provided a boost after several difficult seasons.
Could the Truck Series Be Next?
Deegan’s long-term ambitions remain centered on continuing her racing career. In an October interview with People Who Race, she explained that she wants to keep racing for years to come while continuing to work toward bigger opportunities.
Her father, Brian Deegan, has also discussed the possibility of a Truck Series return. In a March interview with RACER, he said the goal was for Hailie to eventually return to full time Truck Series competition with Bill McAnally Racing.
That does not mean a full time deal has been announced, but it gives fans a reason to watch her progress closely.
The Road Back to NASCAR
A return to the Truck Series would give Deegan another opportunity to show how much she has developed as a driver. Her experience in NASCAR’s national divisions could prove valuable, while her renewed confidence in ARCA provides a foundation to build upon.
For now, Deegan’s focus remains on making the most of her current opportunity. If she continues to improve and compete for victories, a NASCAR comeback could become a realistic next chapter in her career.
