Scott Dixon, Felix Rosenqvist Give Arrow McLaren Championship-Caliber Lineup for 2027

Arrow McLaren didn’t just make headlines when it signed Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist.

It changed the balance of power in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

Beginning in 2027, six-time series champion Scott Dixon and reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist will join Pato O’Ward in what immediately becomes one of the strongest driver lineups in IndyCar. The team also confirmed Ryan Hunter-Reay will return for the 2027 Indianapolis 500 while continuing in his role as sporting director.

For Dixon, the move marks the end of an era after spending 25 seasons with Chip Ganassi Racing, where he won six championships, the 2008 Indianapolis 500 and became one of the greatest drivers in IndyCar history. Dixon said he wanted to challenge himself in a new environment rather than finish his career wondering what might have been elsewhere.

Rosenqvist’s return is equally compelling.

After driving for Arrow McLaren from 2021-23, the Swede revived his career with Meyer Shank Racing before capturing the 2026 Indianapolis 500. Now, he’ll reunite with familiar faces as McLaren continues its push to become a championship-winning organization.

On paper, the lineup checks every box.

O’Ward remains one of the fastest and most aggressive drivers in the series. Dixon brings unmatched experience, consistency and championship pedigree. Rosenqvist adds proven speed, elite qualifying pace and the confidence that comes with being the reigning Indy 500 champion.

Perhaps most importantly, all three have shown they can win on vastly different types of circuits.

For Arrow McLaren, that’s the goal.

The organization has spent years building race-winning speed but has yet to secure an IndyCar championship. By adding Dixon and bringing Rosenqvist back into the fold, McLaren isn’t simply trying to win more races.

It’s trying to build a dynasty.

The 2027 season suddenly can’t get here soon enough.
