Carson Hocevar Could Be Headed for the Indy 500 as Rumors Continue to Grow

Popular

Could NASCAR’s Carson Hocevar be the next driver to attempt one of motorsports’ biggest challenges? Rumors surrounding Hocevar potentially competing in the Indianapolis 500 have continued to gain attention, and the Spire Motorsports driver has made it clear that racing in the historic event is something he would love to accomplish.

Hocevar has never been shy about his interest in IndyCar. Growing up in Michigan, he developed a strong connection to Indianapolis Motor Speedway and has frequently talked about how much the Indy 500 means to him.

In fact, Hocevar has called the Indianapolis 500 his favorite race and described it as one of the coolest events in motorsports.

Hocevar Has Made His Interest Clear

During appearances surrounding the 2026 Indy 500, Hocevar discussed the possibility of getting behind the wheel of an IndyCar. He even joked about whether his height would allow him to fit comfortably inside the cockpit.

Standing approximately 6 foot 4, Hocevar admitted that fitting into the car could be a challenge. However, that has not stopped him from expressing his interest.

He also revealed that he would love to attempt the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 double someday. The challenge would require him to compete in two major races on the same day, something that has only been attempted by a handful of drivers.

Could Andretti Make It Happen?

One reason the possibility has attracted attention is Hocevar’s connection to TWG Motorsports. The ownership group is connected to both Spire Motorsports and Andretti Global, giving Hocevar a potential connection to an established IndyCar organization.

However, there is no confirmed deal for Hocevar to compete in the Indianapolis 500. TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss previously ruled him out of Andretti’s planned fourth entry for the 2026 race.

That does not necessarily end the possibility of a future opportunity.

Hocevar has said he wants to win more NASCAR Cup Series races and the Brickyard 400 before turning his attention toward an Indy 500 attempt.

For now, NASCAR fans will have to wait and see whether the Indy 500 dream becomes reality. Hocevar has the interest, the personality and a connection to an IndyCar team. If everything comes together, he could eventually become another NASCAR star attempting one of racing’s most demanding challenges.
