The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship battle has reached its final stage, and the fight for the title is officially down to five drivers. Following Saturday’s race at Martinsville Speedway, the championship picture changed dramatically, setting up an exciting season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Justin Allgaier now leads the standings after finishing second at Martinsville. He holds a 22 point advantage over Jesse Love, who entered the race as the championship leader but suffered a difficult night and finished 30th.
With only one race remaining, every position and every point will matter.
Five Drivers Still Have a Chance
Allgaier sits at the top of the standings with 2,436 points. Love is second with 2,414, just 22 points behind. Corey Day is third with 2,413, only one point behind Love and 23 behind the leader.
Carson Kvapil sits fourth with 2,405 points, 31 behind Allgaier, while Sheldon Creed rounds out the championship contenders with 2,394 points, 42 points off the lead.
All five drivers have a realistic mathematical opportunity to leave Homestead as champion, but the pressure will be enormous.
Saturday’s Martinsville race was especially important for Love. After entering the weekend with a 19-point advantage, mechanical problems and a late crash dropped him to 30th. That opened the door for Allgaier to take control of the championship standings.
Homestead Will Decide Everything
The season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway will determine who takes home the 2026 championship. The track has a history of producing exciting racing, and the championship contenders will need to balance aggression with avoiding costly mistakes.
Allgaier has the advantage entering the finale, but a 22-point lead is far from a guarantee. Love has championship experience, Day has shown he can compete with the best, and Kvapil arrives with plenty of momentum after winning at Martinsville.
Creed also remains within striking distance and cannot be counted out.
The pressure will be on every team to deliver its best performance of the season. One mistake could completely change the championship picture.
After a long season of racing, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship will come down to one final battle at Homestead. Five drivers remain in contention, and only one will leave with the trophy.
