Can Max Verstappen Keep His Momentum Going at the São Paulo Grand Prix?

Popular

Max Verstappen is entering another important weekend in the Formula 1 season, and the Red Bull driver is looking to keep his recent momentum going at the São Paulo Grand Prix. After putting together an impressive stretch of performances, Verstappen has quickly become one of the biggest threats on the grid heading into the final races of the 2026 campaign.

Verstappen arrives in Brazil following a victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix, giving him three wins in the last four races. His recent performances have been especially impressive considering the challenges Red Bull faced earlier in the season.

The four-time world champion has continued to show why he is considered one of the most talented drivers in Formula 1. Even when his car has not been the fastest on the grid, Verstappen has found ways to compete for victories.

Interlagos Could Be Another Opportunity

The São Paulo Grand Prix takes place at Interlagos, a circuit where Verstappen has enjoyed plenty of success throughout his career.

He won the Brazilian Grand Prix in both 2023 and 2024, including an incredible performance in 2024 when he fought his way from 17th on the starting grid to victory in challenging wet conditions.

That experience could become especially important this weekend, with unpredictable weather potentially playing a major role in qualifying and Sunday’s race.

Interlagos features several opportunities for overtaking, but drivers must also navigate its technical middle sector and challenging elevation changes. Verstappen’s ability to adapt to different conditions could give him another advantage.

Red Bull Needs Another Strong Weekend

With the drivers’ championship already decided in favor of Kimi Antonelli, Verstappen is now focused on finishing the season as strongly as possible and securing second place in the standings.

He will face competition from Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Charles Leclerc, making every remaining race important.

Red Bull teammate Isack Hadjar will also be looking to build on the team’s recent progress and help deliver another strong overall result.

Can Verstappen Make It Four Wins in Five Races?

Verstappen has already proven that he can compete for victories regardless of the circumstances. His recent run has completely changed the conversation surrounding Red Bull heading into the final stretch of the season.

If he can carry that same confidence into Brazil, another victory is certainly within reach.

With Interlagos historically treating him well and Red Bull showing significant improvement, Verstappen has a legitimate opportunity to continue his impressive run and give fans another memorable performance this weekend.
