NASCAR drivers found themselves behind bars Tuesday night, but they weren’t looking for a lawyer. They were looking for donations!
Connor Zilisch, Alex Bowman, Ryan Preece, Erik Jones, Taylor Reimer, Corey Heim and more racing stars took part in a special Jail & Bail fundraiser on Tuesday night, October 27, asking fans to help bail them out for a good cause.
The event gave fans a chance to support their favorite drivers in a very different way, with the NASCAR personalities taking part in mock jail situations to raise money for charity.
And while the drivers are usually competing against each other for trophies and checkered flags, this time they were working toward the same goal.
The fundraiser supports the Brienne Davis Memorial Scholarship, which helps women pursue technical education and careers in the automotive and motorsports industries.
Davis worked as a NASCAR technical inspector before tragically passing away in a car accident in 2008 at just 28 years old. The scholarship established in her honor continues to create opportunities for women looking to enter an industry where technical skills are essential.
For the drivers involved, the event was an opportunity to give back to the motorsports community and help the next generation find its place in racing.
With recognizable names like Bowman, Preece, Jones, Zilisch and Corey Heim participating, fans had plenty of reasons to get involved and show their support.
The event also put a fun spin on the usual driver-versus-driver competition. Instead of fighting for position on the track, the participants were trying to raise money and secure their release from the mock jail.
And considering how much NASCAR fans love supporting their favorite drivers, the fundraiser offered a unique way for the community to make a difference.
Here’s Where the Money Is Going
The Jail & Bail fundraiser benefits the Brienne Davis Memorial Scholarship, which honors former NASCAR technical inspector Brienne Davis, who died in a car accident in 2008 at just 28 years old.
The scholarship helps women pursue technical education and careers in the automotive and motorsports industries, giving aspiring professionals financial assistance as they work toward entering the field.
The scholarship has already helped dozens of recipients since its establishment, and the annual fundraiser continues to support opportunities for the next generation of automotive technicians.
For NASCAR, an industry built around engineering, mechanics and technical expertise, the event is a chance to give back to the people who hope to build careers in that same world.
NASCAR Fans Came Through for a Good Cause
Although the drivers weren’t facing actual criminal charges, the mock arrests gave fans a fun way to support their favorite personalities while contributing to an important scholarship program.
With Larson leading the reported totals and Bowman and Briscoe also raising substantial amounts, the event turned a playful concept into a serious fundraising competition.
It’s another example of how NASCAR’s community can come together outside the racetrack.
And for once, the biggest question wasn’t who would win on Sunday.
It was which driver could raise enough money to get out of jail first!
