NASCAR FANS ARE ALREADY MAKING EXCUSES FOR WHY THE CHASE DOESN’T COUNT.
Let’s get something straight: if your favorite driver wins the championship, the format is brilliant. If Kyle Larson wins it, suddenly NASCAR has a problem.
Funny how that works.
Larson is one of the most naturally gifted drivers of his generation. The guy can wheel a car on pavement, dominate on dirt and make moves that most drivers wouldn’t even attempt. Yet every time he finds success, some fans seem more interested in explaining why it shouldn’t count than appreciating what they’re watching.
You don’t have to like Larson. You don’t have to like Hendrick Motorsports. You don’t even have to like the Chase format.
But pretending a driver didn’t earn a championship because you dislike the rules is a different conversation.
Every contender knows the format. Every team prepares for it. Every driver gets the same opportunity to go out and perform under pressure.
And here’s the uncomfortable truth: NASCAR could change the championship format tomorrow, and fans would still complain when the wrong driver wins.
The old points system wasn’t perfect. The playoffs aren’t perfect. No championship format will satisfy everybody, because fans don’t actually agree on what makes a champion legitimate.
Some want season-long consistency. Others want a winner-take-all finale. Some want more weight on victories. Others want every race to matter equally.
But if you only respect the system when your guy wins, maybe the problem isn’t NASCAR.
Maybe it’s you.
🇺🇸 Kyle Larson is a generational talent. Celebrate the racing instead of searching for reasons to discredit it.
Now answer honestly:
🔥 A championship is a championship. The driver who wins under the rules deserves respect.
👎 The Chase can crown the wrong driver and cheapen an entire season.
Which side are you on? And don’t just blame the format — tell us what system would actually be better.
