Joey Logano Continues Red-Hot Summer With Richmond Victory

Joey Logano is officially back.

The Team Penske driver continued his scorching summer Saturday night at Richmond Raceway, holding off Chase Briscoe to win the Cook Out 400 and collect his second NASCAR Cup Series victory in the last four races.

Logano led 95 of the 400 laps and put together another statement performance in the No. 22 Ford, turning what was once a difficult start to the 2026 season into a legitimate championship resurgence.

Just six races ago, Logano sat 20th in the championship standings. After his Richmond victory, the three-time Cup Series champion has climbed all the way to ninth.

The win also marked Logano’s third career victory at Richmond and his 39th career Cup Series win.

After spending much of the first half of the season searching for consistency, Logano and the No. 22 team have found their rhythm at exactly the right time. With the playoffs approaching, the veteran is no longer simply trying to survive the season.

He’s becoming a threat.

And if this summer surge continues, Logano could enter the postseason as one of the most dangerous drivers in the field.
