KYLE LARSON IS AN AMERICAN HERO. STOP COMPLAINING THAT HE’S TOO GOOD.
NASCAR finally has a championship battle worth talking about, and somehow, some fans and media personalities would rather complain about the format than appreciate what is happening on the track.
Kyle Larson is putting together another incredible run. The two-time Cup Series champion keeps finding ways to win, overcome adversity and remind everyone why he belongs among the most talented drivers of his generation.
And instead of enjoying the show, people are already looking for reasons to discredit it.
Apparently, when your favorite driver loses, the format is broken. When Larson wins, something must be wrong with the system. And when a driver proves he can perform under pressure, suddenly the entire championship needs an asterisk.
COME ON.
The Chase is supposed to create drama. It is supposed to make every race matter, put pressure on championship contenders and give fans something to argue about. Guess what? It’s working.
Larson has to beat the same competition everyone else does. He has to survive the same races, deal with the same cautions and execute when the opportunity presents itself.
You don’t have to be a Larson fan to respect what he’s doing.
You don’t have to like Hendrick Motorsports. You don’t have to agree with every NASCAR decision. But acting like a driver should be punished because he’s better than everyone else is ridiculous.
And let’s be honest: NASCAR fans LOVE controversy until the controversy involves their own driver.
If Larson wins the championship, he earned it under the rules everyone knew going into the season. If another driver wins, that driver deserves the same respect.
THE HOT TAKE: NASCAR DOESN’T HAVE A KYLE LARSON PROBLEM. IT HAS A FAN PROBLEM.
Stop crying about the format long enough to appreciate the racing.
Kyle Larson: one of America’s best race car drivers, and a reminder that greatness will always make people uncomfortable.
Now let’s hear it.
π₯ TEAM LARSON: The best driver should be celebrated, not criticized.
π TEAM CRITICS: The Chase format makes the championship less legitimate.
Who is right? And if Larson wins it all, will you give him credit β or find another reason to complain?
LET THE COMMENTS SECTION DECIDE.
