Kaden Honeycutt Locks In TRICON Ride For 2027 Truck Season

Kaden Honeycutt is staying put. This move secures his seat in the No. 11 Toyota Tundra just as he fights for his first career championship. With three races left in the 2026 season, Honeycutt leads the Chase Grid by 39 points over Layne Riggs.

TRICON Garage made the official call public via a social media post that included a graphic confirming the deal. The team stated there is another title fight in their future. This news comes after a breakout year for Honeycutt, who has reached victory lane four times in his first full season with the team. He now holds a massive points cushion heading into the final stretch at Talladega Superspeedway.

A Rookie Year That Changed Everything

Honeycutt’s path to the top was not a straight line. He made his first Truck start at Martinsville in April 2022 and spent three years bouncing between five different teams. He only managed two top-five finishes and ten top-tens during that span. Things shifted in 2025 when he drove for Niece Motorsports, scoring nine top-tos in 16 events before a mid-season release.

That spot in the lineup let him make the Chase on points, where he finished runner-up at Martinsville and third at Phoenix. Now, he sits on top of the standings with a ride that has won 12 races since Corey Heim took the championship in 2025. According to Toby Christie, Honeycutt has notched 17 top-10 results and 569 laps led through 22 starts this year.

The stats show he is ready to win the whole thing. His average finish of 7.8 is a huge jump from his career numbers before joining TRICON. He has won at Watkins Glen, Richmond, Kansas, and Phoenix. That is a clean sweep of different track types, which proves he can handle the whole schedule. Speedway Media reports he is leading the series in top-fives and top-tens, a clear sign of consistency.

Why Staying Together Wins Races

TRICON Garage made the right move by locking in Honeycutt early. The team also re-signed Gio Ruggiero for a third season, showing they are building a stable core. In a sport where drivers often jump ship for a better paycheck, stability wins championships. Honeycutt knows the team, and the team knows how to get him to victory lane.

Some fans might wonder if he should look for a Cup Series seat. Daily Downforce notes that unlike Corey Heim, Honeycutt has no direct relationship with a Cup team right now. But rushing to a higher series before you have a Truck title is a mistake. You need to finish the job you started. He has four wins and a points lead. Why leave now?

This extension sends a message to the rest of the grid. The No. 11 car is a threat for the rest of the season and next year too. With three races remaining, the focus shifts to Talladega. Honeycutt has won three of the last six races, so he is on a hot streak. He will look to add another win at the 2.66-mile superspeedway in Alabama to seal the deal.
