Frankie Muniz Is Not Done With NASCAR Yet

Frankie Muniz is coming off a massive win in the sports car world, but don’t think for a second he is walking away from stock cars. He just grabbed the Pirelli GT4 America Am Class title on October 11 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That is a huge deal, but his heart is still in the truck series.

According to Yahoo Sports, Muniz is not finished with the NASCAR world. He is currently using “guidance from a bunch of places” to figure out his next career moves. While he might not be a full-time driver next year, he plans to be in the NASCAR Truck Series in some capacity during 2027.

A busy schedule for a driven driver

This guy does not do things halfway. Per Speedway Media, Muniz completed 42 races this year. He even said, “There’s gonna be a lot. I did 42 races this year and I may beat that next year which will be hard to do, but that’s what it’s like.” It is a lot to take in, but that is just how he operates.

He is also staying active with Ford. He will compete in the first Ford Proud to Honor Veterans Day Classic at Daytona International Speedway on November 11. He wants to be part of that event because it supports the military. His family has deep ties to service, as his father and grandfather both served in the Navy.

The plan for 2027 and beyond

I love this grit. Most people would see a championship and decide to retire to a beach, but Muniz wants more. He admitted during a Tuesday media availability that he still feels he has unfinished business in NASCAR. He wants to see better results in the truck series because he feels like a much better driver now than when he started.

He is also sticking with his team. Muniz told Yahoo Sports that if he returns to the NASCAR world, it will be with Josh Reaume and his team. He is even looking forward to the next season of racing. He noted that he is not seeing the results he wants yet, but he is not quitting on them.
