Toto Wolff isn’t waiting until the job is finished to start thinking about the celebrations!
With Kimi Antonelli putting himself in the middle of the championship conversation, the Mercedes team principal is already joking about how the team will celebrate if the young Italian gets his hands on the Formula 1 title.
And apparently, Wolff has two very specific options in mind.
“It’s either going to be a big tequila party or if it’s not a tequila party, then it’s going to be Caipirinha the weekend afterwards,” Wolff said.
That’s quite the celebration plan from the Mercedes boss, who clearly isn’t hiding his excitement about what Antonelli could accomplish.
Antonelli has quickly become one of the most talked-about young drivers in Formula 1, and the expectations surrounding him continue to grow. Winning a championship would be a massive moment for the Italian and a huge achievement for Mercedes.
Of course, there’s still plenty of racing left before anyone can officially celebrate. But Wolff’s comments show just how much belief the team has in its young star.
Now, all Antonelli has to do is deliver on track. If he does, it sounds like Mercedes already knows exactly how it’s celebrating.
