The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series heads to Homestead-Miami Speedway this Friday night for the 2026 season finale. After months of competition, the championship will come down to one final race, with Kaden Honeycutt and Layne Riggs battling for the title.
The Championship Race is scheduled for Friday, November 6, at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1. Drivers will take on 134 laps around the 1.5-mile Homestead oval, covering 201 miles. With the championship on the line, every decision could make the difference.
Honeycutt Enters With the Championship Lead
Kaden Honeycutt enters the finale holding a 20 point advantage over Layne Riggs. The Tricon Garage driver has put together an impressive season, winning multiple races and consistently running near the front.
However, his lead took a major hit at Martinsville. Honeycutt finished 14th after late contact sent him backward through the field, allowing Riggs to close the gap.
Honeycutt now has one final opportunity to finish the job and capture the championship. He will need a clean race, strong stage finishes and a truck capable of competing for the victory.
Riggs Has One Last Opportunity
Layne Riggs has been one of the strongest drivers in the series throughout 2026. The Front Row Motorsports driver leads the series with seven victories and has continued building momentum during the Chase.
Riggs dominated much of the Martinsville race, leading 156 laps and winning both stages before finishing third. That performance helped him erase a significant portion of Honeycutt’s advantage.
Now, Riggs needs another strong performance at Homestead. A victory would put him in an excellent position to overcome the deficit, although Honeycutt still controls his championship destiny.
Homestead Could Deliver a Dramatic Finish
Homestead is known for producing exciting racing, with its progressive banking allowing drivers to run multiple grooves. Tire management, handling and finding the right line will be especially important over 134 laps.
Both championship contenders will need to balance aggression with patience. One mistake could completely change the championship picture.
A Championship Comes Down to One Race
The Truck Series season has delivered plenty of memorable moments, but everything now comes down to Friday night.
Honeycutt has the points advantage, while Riggs has the victories and momentum. With only 20 points separating them, fans should expect an intense championship battle at Homestead.
One driver will leave South Florida as the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion.
