Kaulig Racing is considering adding a third NASCAR Cup Series entry in 2027 as Dodge prepares to return to the series for the first time since 2012.
During Friday’s announcement at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kaulig confirmed that AJ Allmendinger and Ty Dillon will return next season, driving the No. 16 and No. 10 Dodges.
But the team could have plans for another car.
Kaulig Racing CEO Chris Rice said the organization would like to enter a third Dodge in the 2027 Daytona 500, although nothing has been finalized.
“We would love to run a third car at Daytona,” Rice said, explaining that further discussions with Dodge and team owner Matt Kaulig would be needed.
The potential expansion comes as questions remain about Brad Keselowski’s future in NASCAR.
Keselowski, who is leaving RFK Racing following Sunday’s championship finale, won the 2012 Cup Series championship driving a Dodge for Team Penske. He remains the manufacturer’s most recent Cup champion.
However, Rice confirmed that Kaulig has not held discussions with Keselowski about joining the organization.
Kaulig’s potential expansion would give Dodge another opportunity to build its presence in NASCAR as the manufacturer returns to Cup competition.
Additional details about Dodge’s 2027 Cup Series program are expected December 4 during Snowball Derby weekend in Pensacola, Florida.
For now, Kaulig has two full-time drivers confirmed, with the possibility of a third entry still on the table.
