John Hunter Nemechek is making a major move for the 2027 NASCAR season, as he prepares to return to the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series full-time competition.
Nemechek is headed to Haas Factory to drive the No. 41 entry during the 2027 season, giving the organization a major addition as it continues building its program.
The move is an interesting one for Nemechek, who has spent the past several seasons competing at NASCAR’s Cup Series level. Now, he will have a new opportunity to compete for wins and potentially a championship in the O’Reilly Series.
Nemechek has plenty of experience in the series, formerly competing full-time before making the jump to the Cup Series. He knows what it takes to win at this level, and that experience could make him an immediate contender in the No. 41.
For Haas Factory, landing a driver with Nemechek’s background is a significant step. The organization will be hoping the combination can put together a competitive season and challenge some of the series’ biggest names.
The 2027 season will also give Nemechek a chance to reset and take on a different challenge. While returning to the O’Reilly Series is a major change from the Cup Series, it gives him an opportunity to compete for victories on a regular basis.
There will be plenty of attention on how quickly he adjusts to the No. 41 and what Haas Factory can accomplish with him behind the wheel.
Nemechek’s move adds another major name to the 2027 O’Reilly Series driver lineup. Could he become one of the favorites to compete for the championship?
