Only 19 points separate Jesse Love and Justin Allgaier heading into Saturday’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Martinsville Speedway, with two races remaining in the 2026 championship battle.
Love enters the National Debt Relief 250 leading the standings with 2,401 points, while Allgaier sits second with 2,382. The gap narrowed from 36 points following Talladega, where Love finished third and Allgaier finished fourth after winning Stage 2.
Martinsville could provide Allgaier with another opportunity to close the deficit. The JR Motorsports driver won at the half-mile track in March, leading 114 of 250 laps to secure his second career Martinsville victory.
Love, meanwhile, has maintained the championship lead despite pressure from the competition. His No. 2 Richard Childress Racing team will also lose pit selection at Martinsville following multiple pre-race inspection failures at Talladega, potentially adding another challenge at a track where pit-road position matters.
The championship battle extends beyond the top two drivers. Corey Day trails Love by 29 points, while Sheldon Creed sits 50 points behind and Carson Kvapil is 59 points back.
Allgaier has already demonstrated his ability to win at Martinsville this season, but Love remains in control of the standings. Saturday’s race will determine how close the championship fight is when the series heads to Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The National Debt Relief 250 begins October 31 at 4 p.m. Eastern on The CW.
