Carson Kvapil delivered a huge performance Saturday night at Martinsville Speedway, capturing the victory in the National Debt Relief 250 and keeping himself firmly in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship conversation.
The JR Motorsports driver held off teammate Justin Allgaier in the closing laps to secure his third victory of the 2026 season. Kvapil led a race high 121 laps during the 250 lap event before crossing the finish line 0.434 seconds ahead of Allgaier.
Kvapil Holds Off Allgaier
Starting from the front row, Kvapil showed speed throughout the evening at the historic Virginia short track. However, the victory was far from easy, as Allgaier remained a serious threat during the closing stages.
The two JR Motorsports teammates battled for the lead, but Kvapil managed to maintain control and make the important moves when it mattered most.
Allgaier settled for second, while Corey Day finished third. Brandon Jones and Sam Mayer rounded out the top five.
The result gave JR Motorsports another impressive showing, with the organization placing two drivers inside the top three.
Championship Battle Gets More Interesting
The victory could not have come at a better time for Kvapil. With only one race remaining in the 2026 season, every position and championship point matters.
Allgaier’s runner up finish moved him back into the championship lead, holding an unofficial 23-point advantage over both Corey Day and Jesse Love.
Love experienced a disastrous evening after mechanical problems and an early incident. His night ended when he lost his brakes entering Turn 1 with 30 laps remaining and crashed into the outside wall.
He was credited with a 30th place finish, creating a much tighter championship situation heading into the season finale.
Kvapil Has One More Opportunity
The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will head to Homestead-Miami Speedway next Saturday for the championship finale.
Kvapil has already proven he can compete with the best drivers in the series, and Saturday’s victory gives him plenty of momentum heading into the final weekend.
After leading the most laps and holding off one of the strongest competitors in the field, Kvapil has given himself another opportunity to make a championship push.
His Martinsville victory was a major statement, and he will look to carry that momentum into Homestead.
