Alex Palou continued his impressive 2026 IndyCar season Sunday, winning the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland at Portland International Raceway.
Palou started alongside pole sitter Felix Rosenqvist on the front row and quickly settled into second place after the opening laps. The race’s first caution came on Lap 7 when Graham Rahal found the barrier.
As the race progressed, Palou’s strategy and pace began to separate him from the field. After the first round of pit stops, Palou moved into the lead and built a gap over Rosenqvist. The Chip Ganassi Racing driver continued to control the race through the second pit cycle.
With 20 laps remaining, Palou held a four second advantage over Rosenqvist. That lead grew to six seconds with just seven laps to go, leaving little doubt about the outcome.
Palou ultimately crossed the finish line first to secure the Portland victory, while Rosenqvist finished second after starting from pole. Will Power completed the podium in third.
Rinus VeeKay finished fourth, followed by Kyle Kirkwood in fifth. Marcus Ericsson, Scott McLaughlin, Josef Newgarden, Christian Lundgaard and Kyffin Simpson rounded out the top 10.
For Palou, the Portland victory adds another major result to an already impressive season and further strengthens his position as one of IndyCar’s dominant drivers.
Rosenqvist’s runner-up finish was also a strong result after he earned pole position in qualifying, while Power’s third-place finish gave him another podium on the road course.
The 110-lap race featured a combination of strategy, pit stops and long green-flag stretches, but Palou ultimately proved too strong for the field.

Portland once again delivered a competitive IndyCar race, but when the checkered flag flew, it was Palou standing alone at the front.
