A Championship and a Historic First: What’s at Stake in the World Crown 300?

The World Crown 300 returns to Cordele Motor Speedway this Saturday, October 24, with more than a race victory on the line. For the first time, the historic Super Late Model event will also decide the ASA Southern Super Series championship at Cordele.

Spencer Davis enters the 300-lap finale with a 35-point advantage over Matt Craig and 41 points over Bubba Pollard. With the championship still undecided, Saturday’s race could deliver two celebrations in victory lane.

But the title fight is only part of the story.

Stephen Nasse has an opportunity to join exclusive company. A victory would make him just the second driver, alongside Chase Elliott, to win all four major Super Late Model crown jewels: the Snowball Derby, Winchester 400, All American 400, and World Crown 300.

Pollard has unfinished business of his own. Despite leading 277 laps across previous World Crown appearances, the Georgia driver has never won the event.

The field also includes 14-year-old Keelan Harvick, who is making his World Crown debut after finishing fifth in his first Southern Super Series start in September.

First held in 1983, the World Crown disappeared after Gresham Motorsports Park closed in 2014 before returning at Cordele in 2024. Michael Hinde and Jake Garcia have won the two editions held at the Georgia track.

Now, the World Crown 300 could produce a new series champion, a long-awaited victory, and another chapter in short-track racing history.
