Kaden Honeycutt Wins 2026 NASCAR Truck Series Championship at Homestead

Kaden Honeycutt capped off his 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season in the best way possible Friday night, winning both the championship and season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Driving the No. 11 TRICON Garage Toyota, Honeycutt secured his fifth victory of the season and first NASCAR national series championship. But listening to him reflect after the race, it was clear how much this moment meant beyond the trophy.

Honeycutt spoke about his personal growth throughout the season and the work it took to reach this point. While his ultimate goal remains competing in the NASCAR Cup Series, he acknowledged there’s still more to learn before taking that next step.

That perspective stood out just as much as his performance.

Friday’s championship battle unfortunately didn’t unfold as expected. Layne Riggs entered 20 points behind Honeycutt, but early contact with Nick Sanchez led to tire trouble that ultimately left Riggs finishing 32nd.

After a seven-win season, it was disappointing to see Riggs’ championship opportunity unravel so early. But that’s racing, and one unfortunate moment can change everything.

Corey Heim swept both stages, while Christian Eckes led a race-high 46 laps. Honeycutt and crew chief Scott Zipadelli made the late decision to pit for fresh tires, allowing Honeycutt to capitalize and take the lead following the final restart.

Honeycutt wasn’t necessarily the strongest driver all night, but his consistency throughout the season and execution when it mattered earned him this championship.

The battle with Riggs may not have played out as hoped, but Honeycutt made sure his championship season ended with a victory.
