JR Motorsports Set for Major 2027 Expansion as Trackhouse and Spire Join Forces for Fifth Entry

JR Motorsports is preparing for a major change in its NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series lineup for the 2027 season, with Trackhouse Racing and Spire Motorsports set to share seat time in the organization’s fifth full-time entry.

The arrangement adds another interesting layer to JRM’s already successful program and brings two major NASCAR organizations together for a unique partnership.

Rather than having one driver take over the entry for the entire season, Trackhouse and Spire will split the schedule, giving both organizations an opportunity to put their drivers behind the wheel of a JR Motorsports car.

The move also gives JRM an opportunity to expand its presence in the series while working with two teams that have established themselves at the Cup Series level.

For Trackhouse, the partnership could provide another opportunity to develop drivers and gain valuable experience in NASCAR’s second-tier national series. Spire will also have a chance to get involved with one of the most competitive organizations in the O’Reilly Series.

JR Motorsports has been one of the biggest names in the series for years, and adding a fifth full-time entry with support from Trackhouse and Spire makes its 2027 plans even more interesting.

There will be plenty of questions surrounding which drivers get the opportunity, how the schedule will be divided, and what the partnership could mean for the team’s overall championship outlook.

One thing is clear: JRM’s 2027 lineup is getting a significant shakeup, and this new arrangement could make its fifth entry one of the most interesting cars to follow next season.
