Cleetus McFarland Returns to Talladega for Another Shot at NASCAR Success

Popular

Cleetus McFarland is preparing for another opportunity to make headlines at Talladega Superspeedway as the popular YouTube star gets ready to compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Friday, October 23.

McFarland, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, will drive the No. 4 truck for Niece Motorsports in the Love’s RV Stop 225. The race will mark another important chapter in his developing NASCAR career as he looks to build on the progress he has made throughout the 2026 season.

Talladega Presents a Huge Opportunity

Talladega is a track where almost anything can happen. The 2.66-mile superspeedway is known for its intense pack racing, unpredictable finishes and opportunities for drivers to make dramatic moves in the closing laps.

McFarland already has experience finding success at the Alabama track. Earlier this year, he nearly captured his first ARCA Menards Series victory at Talladega, leading laps before finishing second behind Andy Jankowiak.

That performance showed he has the potential to compete near the front when circumstances fall his way. Now, he will get another opportunity to prove himself against a competitive Truck Series field.

However, the challenge will be different. Truck Series competition brings experienced drivers, established teams and plenty of aggressive racing. McFarland will need to make smart decisions, maintain track position and avoid the wrecks that frequently occur at superspeedways.

Can Cleetus Make a Statement?

McFarland’s rookie season has been a learning experience as he continues adjusting to the demands of professional stock car racing. While his massive online following has brought additional attention to his efforts, his ultimate goal is to improve as a driver and compete for results on the track.

His upcoming Talladega start could provide one of his best opportunities to make a statement before the season ends.

The race is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. ET and will air on FS1. With drafting partners and late-race strategy potentially playing major roles, McFarland could have a chance to surprise the field.

A strong finish would give him valuable momentum heading into the offseason. After coming so close to victory at Talladega earlier this year, Cleetus now has another opportunity to show how far he has come in his NASCAR journey.
